Bio

Cesar has been playing guitar for over 35 years, developing a rich and expressive style shaped by a wide range of musical influences. Inspired by the acoustic brilliance of Tommy Emmanuel, the jazz sophistication of Pat Metheny, the atmospheric soundscapes of Radiohead and Pink Floyd, the power of Metallica and AC/DC, and the virtuosic flamenco and fusion of Paco De Lucia and Al Di Meola, he brings a unique musical voice to every performance. The emotional depth of artists like Jeff Buckley also informs his playing, adding nuance and sensitivity to his sound.

Over the years, Cesar has performed with many different guitarists and collaborated with multiple singers in duos, as well as playing in numerous bands across a variety of styles. He is a constant presence on stages across Sydney’s Northern Beaches, regularly performing and refining his craft in live settings. These experiences have given him a deep understanding of musical communication, improvisation, and performance dynamics.

Cesar has been teaching guitar for over 17 years, working with both kids and adults, and has a strong track record of helping students achieve real, lasting progress. Many of his students have stayed with him for years, with some learning for over a decade and growing into passionate, confident guitar players who truly love the instrument. He focuses on building solid foundations while keeping lessons engaging, practical, and tailored to each student’s goals.

Beyond music, Cesar is a proud dad of three kids, which gives him a patient, understanding, and down-to-earth approach to teaching. Whether on stage or in the lesson room, he aims to share not just technical skills, but a genuine lifelong love of guitar and music.

Teaching Styles

I offer lessons on acoustic guitar, electric guitar, ukulele, and bass, tailored to suit complete beginners through to advanced players. Whether you want to strum your favourite songs, master lead guitar, or develop your own style, we’ll build the skills you need at a pace that feels comfortable.

In our lessons, we cover fingerpicking, plectrum picking techniques, rhythm and groove, chord vocabulary, scales, and improvisation. You’ll also learn practical guitar maintenance and basic setup, so you can keep your instrument playing and sounding its best.

Alongside playing, we explore music theory in a clear, practical way, focusing on how it applies directly to the music you love. If you’re interested in creating your own music, we can dive into songwriting, arranging, and developing your own riffs and melodies.

Lessons are always personalised around your goals, favourite styles, and musical interests, so every session feels engaging, relevant, and fun.
